Bordeaux, France

Chateau Figeac can trace its history back to a Roman villa in the second century and has been under the ownership of the Manoncourt family since 1892. The winery is now characterised by, unusually for the Right Bank of Bordeaux, a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, as well as its unique terroir and relentless commitment to high standards throughout the winemaking process. The result is a wine internationally recognised as one of Bordeaux’s finest, reflected in the estate’s recent promotion to the highest level of the St-Emilion classification.

     26 February 2024
     9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Venue:

Address:
Storey's Way, Cambridge, CB3 0DS

Bordeaux, France

The vines of Château Smith Haut Lafitte are planted in a single block of 87 hectares on a Günz gravel plateau in Bordeaux, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Here they produce six distinct wines, both red and white, each with their own unique blend and distinctive aromatic profile, made from seven different grape varieties. The terroir, composed of Günz gravel, boasts two astonishing features: superb natural drainage, forcing the vine roots to sink deep to extract water and mineral salts over six metres below the surface; and a “mirror effect” reflecting the sun’s rays off the gravelly soil, which ensure optimum ripening. They also use organic methods, such as home grown medicinal herbs to prevent vine diseases, alongside having an in-house cooperage to produce their own French oak barrels.

These finely tuned characteristics result in truly unique wines – come taste them with us!

  • Liber Pater Dinner
     16 January 2024

Bordeaux, France

Liber Pater was founded by winemaker Loïc Pasquet in 2006, with the aim of recreating the famed taste of Bordeaux wines before the devastating phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century. The result is a rare, unique, and exceptional wine – one that is, by certain metrics, the world’s most expensive.

Join us for what promises to be a spectacular dinner, including an exclusive screening of the documentary ‘The Most Expensive Wine in the World’!
